Do you know your default style for handling conflict and when to change it!

Researchers Thomas and Kilmann have identified the 5 most commonly used "conflict styles":
  1. Avoiding - "I will think about it tomorrow..."
  2. Accomodating - "Of course I will..."
  3. Competing - "My way or the highway..."
  4. Collaborating - "Lets try win-win..."
  5. Compromising - "Give a bit, take a bit ..."
However your default conflict style will not always be the best one for you in any given situation - you need to have all 5 styles in your repertoire!
